The first legs of UEFA Champions League Semi-finals ended, both of them in a draw. Liverpool and Chelsea played 1-1 at Anfield, while Barca and Manchester United played 0-0 at Nou Camp. Both matches were exciting and had shown a great football, but all four managers didn’t want to risk anything and were very careful, [...]

Sunday, April 20th, 2008

I’ve been away for a while and it was a rough period for Barca. There are only two good news: Barca is in semi-finals of UEFA Champions League and Messi is back!
After draw with Getafe, Barca had to stay calm and maintain advantage against Schalke after a 1-0 win in Germany. That task was completed [...]

Match Report: Barça 0-0 Getafe

Monday, April 7th, 2008

Real Madrid draw with Mallorca and Barça had a great chance to reduce difference to only five points.
Frank Rijakaard made just one change to the team which played in Germany (Sylvinho instead of Eric Abidal). Barça played first half well. They held the ball (around 70% possession),making loads of short passes, but I think it was [...]

Frank Rijakaard’s future at Barcelona

Friday, April 4th, 2008

Match Report: Schalke 0-1 Barça

Thursday, April 3rd, 2008

A goal from Bojan Krkic after twelve minutes was enough to give Barcelona a victory in the Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen, which leaves Barça very close to a semi final place in this season’s Champions League. The performance was not pretty but the players showed the pride that seemed to be lacking recently to earn [...]

Thursday, April 3rd, 2008

In this match against Betis, Barça forgot one of football’s most basic rules: that the game lasts for 90 minutes.
Barça’s horizontal possession game contrasted with Betis’s straight-for-goal approach. Twice Betis threatened after Barça had lost possession, but this was quickly forgotten as Barça hit back with ten minutes of superb football. Eto’o was the first to come close when he forced [...]
